Jul 5 Unique Ideas For A North Fork Summer Date Night

Show your date you care with these cool and unique romantic activities on Long Island’s North Fork. From live music to wineries to seasonal fairs, we have a couple ideas that are sure to win over their heart.

1.Meteor Shower at Custer Observatory
July 28, August 12
7pm

Settle in with your sweetheart while watching meteors shower down from the sky. Weather permitting, you catch the Delta Aquarids shower on Friday, July 28 or the Perseid meteor shower on Saturday, August 12. From 7pm – 7am the observatory is hosting a Custer Meteor Shower Campout. Bring your tent, sleeping bag, and chairs and you can spend the night watching the stars and eat some BBQ.

2.Hallockville Museum Barn Dance Fundraiser
July 29
6PM – 9PM

Listen to live traditional music and learn the dance steps from caller Chart Guthrie in the historic Naugles Barn! No experience needed, all are welcome to enjoy this summer tradition and annual fundraiser for the not-for-profit museum. Food truck and beverages will be available for cash purchase. The event is rain or shine. You are welcome to bring picnic blankets, folding chairs for use on the lawn as seating will be limited.

3.First Fridays on Love Lane

6PM – 9PM

Love Lane in Mattituck shuts down to traffic from 6pm – 9pm for a block party every first Friday of the month until October. You’ll find live music, mini-games such as corn hole, great local vendors, street lights and much more. Past vendors include Lombardi’s, the Village Cheese Shop, Backyard Brine Pickle Co., Schmitt’s Farms and more! Come see and taste some of the best the North Fork has to offer with your date.

4.The Twilight Series at Bedell Cellars

Watch the sunset while listening to live music and tasty eats provided by a rotating cast of tasty food trucks. On Tuesday, August 1st, you can catch Jeff Leblanc live and savor food by Noah’s on the Road, an offshoot of Noah’s Restaurant in Greenport. You’ll find similarly inspired cuisine from his food truck such as blackened swordfish tacos and crispy risotto balls stuffed with Catapano Dairy Farm goat cheese. 5.The 12th Annual Long Island Comedy Festival

The Long Island Comedy Festival returns to the Suffolk Theater in August!
