Aug Five after 5pm: Things to do on Long Island’s East End

The weekend’s nearly here! Check into these five activities for a fun-filled weekend:

FRIDAY
The Friday KickOff at Bistro 72
4pm – 7pm
Riverhead

Kick off your weekend with delicious drinks during Bistro 72’s all-new happy hour, The Friday KickOff. Every Friday from 4pm – 7pm you can enjoy live music, appetizers, and half-priced drinks guaranteed to help put your work week in the rear view and get the party started! You can sip on a local draft beer for only $5, a martini for $8, or a glass of local wine for $7. This week’s entertainment is local musician and guitarist Michael Duca.

East End Fringe Festival

Follow up drinks with a show! The East End Fringe Festival is in full swing at Vail Leavitt Music Hall. You can catch their production of “Mr. Danby’s Son” at 6pm this Friday. If that timing doesn’t work out, watch “Priapism,” a raucous comedy, on Saturday August 5th or catch “The Supreme Beings” by Michael Horn on Sunday, August 6th. Tickets are available at the door for $25 or get a combo ticket package ($35 for two shows, $45 three shows.)

Harvest East End is a sensory experience for the ages set in the rustic elegance of summer wine country. Featuring passed hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction offering “curated experience” packages, local artisanal food items available for purchase and live music, this event is not to be missed. Proceeds from the event support cooperative initiatives dedicated to progressing viticulture, sustainable agriculture and community relations. Tickets include exclusive meet and greet opportunities with Long Island winemakers, tasting of library and reserve wines. Must be 21+ to attend.

SUNDAY
Pulse Magazine’s North Fork Summer Social

Celebrate Long Island at this summer’s can’t-miss tasting event! Enjoy an afternoon on the North Fork in wine country, complete with beautiful views, delectable fare and unforgettable libations. The region’s top restaurants, wineries, brewers, distillers and tastemakers will come together to provide signature samplings. Better yet, proceeds from the event will benefit the Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. VIP tickets include early admission at 2:30pm, an exclusive VIP cocktail party with open bar and passed food, live entertainment and more. General admission includes admission at 4pm and access to all food and beverage tastings and more.

Summer Fundays

Every Sunday until September 3rd we’re hosting Summer Fundays, a live music series outside on our Poolscape, featuring exclusive drink specials from 4pm – 7pm. Admission is free and the show will go on, rain or shine, so no matter what Mother Nature brings us you’re guaranteed a good time. Join us this Sunday you’ll see the Jan Hanna Band with Jan Hanna on vocals and guitar and her band members playing everything from the harmonica to the squeezebox.
