Dec Great Holiday Gift Ideas with an East End Twist

Shopping for the holidays may seem like a daunting task. But it doesn’t have to be. Here are some great North Fork gift ideas that are sure to make anyone’s holiday a festive one and you look like a gift-giving hero! So this year forget about the fruit cakes. Wine

You can’t go wrong with wine. Especially any of the local North Fork varieties. Afterall, this year the North Fork’s wine won a number of awards and received accolades that make it a must on any wine lover’s gift list. This year the North Fork’s own Lieb Cellars’ 2013 Reserve Pinot Blanc was given the distinction of being one of the top wines at The Wall Street Journal’s annual dozen wine tasting. This past summer, several of the North Fork’s wines scored high marks from The Wine Advocate. Seventy-four wines received scores of 90 and above, a record for the region, with Wölffer Estate Vineyard coming out on top for its Descencia Botrytis Chardonnay and Diosa Late Harvest.

Chocolate

Who doesn’t love chocolate? Any chocolate lover would welcome a gift from North Fork Chocolate Company. Local Crafts

If you’re aren’t sure what to get someone, spend a Saturday at The Riverhead Farmer’s Market.  It’s an excellent place to purchase local produce, artisanal cheeses and handmade products including soaps, coffee, pastries for a holiday party and much more.
