Feb LI Events: Week 3 of LI Winterfest Live on the Vine 2014

acoustic rock artist Jeff LeBlanc playing LI Winterfest Live on the Vine

As far as LI events go, Winterfest Live on the Vine is the place to be in 2014! We just wrapped up another great Live on the Vine Winterfest Weekend at Hotel Indigo East End and Bistro 72. Last week we were lucky to have Alexander Clough and Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks wow us with their talent both in the Bistro Lounge and the Indigo Ballroom. This past weekend we were graced with the presence of acoustic rock artist Jeff LeBlanc at Bistro 72 on Friday for the Winterfest Warm Up, and Vinny St. Marten and the Seeing Eye Dog Band LIVE AT THE INDIGO on Saturday.

Jeff LeBlanc’s set in the Bistro Lounge was a change of scenery from the venue where his music career took root—his dorm room at Sacred Heart University. However, Jeff’s come a long way since his college days, and has played all across the US. During a 60-date college tour through the country, he was said to be “perfectly in tune with his audience,” and even referred to as “the new John Mayer” (quite the compliment coming from college students!). After finishing his education, he headlined venues all over the US, and opened for artists like the Goo Goo Dolls, Ingrid Michaelson, Matt Nathanson, Augustana, Brett Dennen, Jon McLaughlin, Lee DeWyze, and Third Eye Blind. Of course, his LI events are especially memorable, because he’s returning home.

Vinny St. Marten and the Seeing Eye Band playing LI Winterfest 2014

On Saturday, Vinny St. Marten and the Seeing Eye Dog Band took the Indigo Ballroom stage for LIVE AT THE INDIGO. Vinny’s story epitomizes overcoming struggle and hardship, and using it to fuel a successful, purposeful life. The Blues singer was born and raised on Long Island as the youngest of sixteen children. After a rough childhood and losing his sight to glaucoma, he threw himself into music, which became his only means of escape. He has since become a successful musician, and attributes his love of music to saving his life. Vinny shares his incredible story through his music, which is cathartic not only for him, but for all of his fans who can relate to his emotions. The soulful sound that Vinny St. Marten and the Seeing Eye Dog Band brought to LIVE AT THE INDIGO resonated with all of our guests, and everyone had an incredible time.
