Jun Oh, Say Can You See: Must-See Firework Displays on Long Island’s East End

Long Island’s East End offers Fourth of July celebrations as diverse as the communities in which we live. Baseball games, festivals, concerts, salutes to our troops, even a kids bike parade all make this summer holiday extra special.

From Montauk to North Fork, you have many choices on the Island, and Hotel Indigo has a few suggestions. Take a peek at some of the most spectacular places to enjoy Independence Day fireworks on Long Island’s East End.

Fireworks in Riverhead, NY

Riverhead Raceway Fireworks and Independence Day Celebration | June 30, 2018 and July 5, 2018

The Riverhead Raceway fireworks show kicks off at 9:00 PM on June 30th and coincides with NASCAR Night 68th Year Celebration. NASCAR Night includes a four-cylinder demo and kids big wheel race. Tickets for the celebration are $30 for adults, $10 for kids 6-12, and kids 5 and under are FREE.

On July 5th, the Riverhead Business Improvement District’s annual fireworks spectacular on the Peconic Riverfront will take place around 9:30 pm. Don’t miss the fun before the show though. From 5:00 PM – 9:30 PM, the Alive on 25 Summer Street Festival begins in downtown Riverhead featuring live music, food, craft beer, local wine, arts, and a classic car show.

RBID Independence Day Celebration | July 5, 2018

On July 5th, the Riverhead Business Improvement District’s annual fireworks spectacular on the Peconic Riverfront will take place around 9:30 pm. Don’t miss the fun before the show though. From 5:00 PM – 9:30 PM, the Alive on 25 Summer Street Festival begins in downtown Riverhead featuring live music, food, craft beer, local wine, arts, and a classic car show.

Fireworks in Shelter Island, NY

61st Annual Shelter Island Fireworks | July 7, 2018 (Rain date July 8th)

The annual celebration at Shelter Island takes place on Crescent Beach at 9:00 PM. The popular event is supported 100% by donations with fireworks presented by Grucci. Don’t miss the pre-event fun on July 6th with a party at The Shipwreck. From 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM there’ll be music, drinks, and raffles.

Fireworks in Central Islip, NY

Long Island Ducks Fireworks Spectacular | June 30, 2018 or July 7, 2018

Enjoy America’s favorite pastime with a game between the Ducks and the Road Warriors, then stick around for an Independence Day fireworks celebration presented by The Rinx. The fireworks show at Hidden Pond Park is free with the purchase of a game ticket.

Fireworks in Sag Harbor

John A. Ward Independence Day Fireworks | June 30, 2018

The fireworks show on the East End of Long Island is sponsored by Sag Harbor Yacht Club and starts at 9:30 pm. Best spots for viewing include Marine Park, Havens Beach and Long Wharf, or if you have a boat, hit the water for a show you won’t forget.

Orient Harbor’s Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular | June 30, 2018 (Rain date July 1st)

Orient Harbor’s Fireworks Spectacular takes place at Orient Beach State Park at 9:15 and is FREE to the public. This event is sponsored by Orient Harbor July 4th Festivities, a non-profit whose mission is to honor our nation and members of our military. Donations are welcome and will benefit veterans and service members from the area.

Fireworks in Montauk, NY

Stars Over Montauk | July 4, 2018 (Rain date July 5th)

Located at Umbrella Beach, Fireworks by Grucci will start the show at 9:15. It’s FREE, but they accept donations. They suggest you arrive early and bring blankets or chairs. Looking to make your evening truly memorable? Book a dinner cruise with Viking Fleet. There’s a pre-cruise party at 6:00 PM, and then you’ll sail aboard the Viking Starship with food, drinks, music and, of course, a VIP view of Stars Over Montauk.
