On St. Patrick’s Day, Thursday, March 17th – Jon & Krista from Miles to Dayton
Jon and Krista Preddice, who make up part of Miles To Dayton, will bring their unique blend of folk, rock and funk inviting you into their infectious rhythmic world at Bistro 72 from 7pm-10pm.

St. Patrick’s Day wouldn’t be complete without menu specials to match the epic festivities. Bistro 72 will be offering the below on Thursday night.

Bangers and Mash
Bangers and mash, also known as sausages and mash, is a traditional British Isles dish made of mashed potatoes and sausages, the latter of which may consist of a variety of flavored sausage made of pork or beef or a Cumberland sausage.

Fish and Chips
Fish and chips is a hot dish of English origin, consisting of fried battered Cod, and chips

Shepherd’s Pie
Cottage pie or shepherd’s pie is a meat pie with a crust of mashed potato. The dish is commonly made with beef or lamb.

Corned Beef & Cabbage
Although this dish is eaten less frequently nowadays in Ireland, for Irish ex-patriots it conjures up powerful nostalgic images of a rural Irish past. Originally it was a traditional Easter Sunday dinner. The beef, killed before the winter, would have been salted and could now be eaten after the long Lenten fast, with fresh green cabbage and floury potatoes. Our local butcher prepares the corned beef in the slow, old-fashioned way which, alas, is nowadays more the exception than the norm.

Friday, March 18th – Dinny Keg – Bistro 72 – 7pm-10pm
Dinny Keg, with Tommy Mac on bass, will continue the celebrations. Dinny and his band cover songs from U2, Cold Play, Rolling Stones and Train. So you may find yourself singing along to one of your favorites. Cheers to that!

Saturday, March 19th – Bangers and Mash – Hotel Indigo Ballroom – 7pm-11pm

Closing out Long Island Winterfest 2016, in Hotel Indigo’s ballroom, is Bangers and Mash. The band formed in New York in 2003 and refuses to define itself as a unique blend of fiddle and guitar or a cutting edge combination of rock and traditional Irish music. Either way, we have them. They are awesome and it promises to be an exciting show. Tickets for Bangers and Mash can be purchased here.

Irish eyes will be be smiling all weekend and not just because of the great food and beer!
