Feb Long Island Winterfest Warm Up and LIVE AT THE INDIGO Kickoff

The anticipation for Long Island Winterfest Live on the Vine 2014 has been building for months, and the day is finally upon us for all the fun to begin. Tonight, Friday, February 7th, 2014, Hotel Indigo East End and Bistro 72 are proud to present The Winterfest Warm Up at Bistro 72, featuring Gail Storm! Long Island Winterfest 2014 is a month-long celebration of local artistry, with incredible Long Island musicians playing at venues throughout the East End. Come out with your friends and family to join us in celebrating all of the wonderful things our community has to offer by enjoying some great tunes, food, and drinks during Long Island Winterfest Live on the Vine 2014. The fun doesn’t stop after Friday night, either; Mambo Loco will be kicking off our popular LIVE AT THE INDIGO Dinner Show series in the Ballroom at Hotel Indigo East End on Saturday night! This whole weekend is packed with killer performances, so don’t miss out.

Gail Storm is a talented pianist and vocalist who specializes in classic blues and jazz. She has extensive musical training and experience, and her passion for music is evidenced in many other aspects of her life. She has opened for Maria Muldaur, Henry Butler, and Bakithi Kumalo (of Paul Simon), and has shared the stage with greats such as Charlie Sayles and Sarah McLawler. Gail is a versatile performer, and regularly plays in a wide variety of venues, both as a solo artist and as a bandleader.

Gail’s music style is influenced by artists like Meade Lux Lewis, Bessie Smith, Ella Fitzgerald, Fats Waller, and Louis Jordan, but many of her fans compare her to modern-day performers such as Diana Krall and Marcia Ball. Gail’s sound is best known for her strong, rhythmic bass lines, but her music dances through a vast spectrum of genres, from traditional blues and boogie woogie to swingin’ classic jazz standards, ballads, and pop. Bistro 72 is honored to have Gail as the performer for our Long Island Winterfest Warm Up tonight!

The wildly talented Mambo Loco will be taking the stage at Hotel Indigo East End on Saturday night to keep the Long Island Winterfest Live on the Vine party going strong. Mambo Loco is comprised of four incredibly talented musicians: Larry Belford, Alfredo Gonzalez, Bill Smith, and Wayne Burgess. These guys have been sharing their unique blend of Afro-Cuban and Puerto Rican music with Long Island locals since 2005, and they really know how to get the crowd on their feet. Every performance is filled with fans moving and grooving to the music; you can’t click through more than a handful of the photos on their Facebook Fan Page without happening across one of groups of people dancing the night away.

We can’t wait for tonight to begin, and we look forward to seeing you at Bistro 72 for Long Island Winterfest Live on the Vine 2014!
