Hotel Indigo is pleased to inform you that Long Island Winterfest—Live On the Vine 2015 is right around the corner! It’s our favorite time of year, and we’re ready to indulge in the musical culture of Long Island music! Winterfest began in 2006 through a collaborative effort between The Island Wine Council, East End Arts, Long Island Convention & Bureau and Suffolk County and produced by J Faith Presents. Hotel Indigo couldn’t miss this opportunity at a great experience. So we jumped on board with the planning committee and are proud to have and continue to sponsor Winterfest.
What is Winterfest
Winterfest is a six week music and performing arts festival celebrated on the East End of Long Island. We take advantage of the atmosphere: vineyards, breweries, historic sites and hotels. These venues hold spectacular performances by talented musicians from far and wide. On the East End, we don’t let the winter slow us down. Instead, we have one of Long Island’s biggest live music festivals while enjoying delicious local food, wine, beer and spirits.
When
Long Island Winterfest 2015 will take place from February 21 – March 29, 2015. Every weekend from Fridays to Sundays live performances will be going on across the North Fork. Every night, before you’re ready to call it a day, Hotel Indigo and our restaurant, Bistro 72, will be hosting nightly performances. So come have dinner and spend the weekend!
Performances
For six weeks you can expect the talent to never run out. A total of 119 performances are taking place during Winterfest – Live On the Vine. On February 6, Suffolk Theater is holding a kickoff event to get the party started. Then on Friday, February 20, you can see the first show at Hotel Indigo featuring Vinny St. Marten & Seeing Eye Dogs.
Hotel Indigo even features amazing artists like Amy Helm and Bakithi Kumalo. Amy Helm grew up with musical parents and the gene followed with her. Helm has been in multiple bands, recorded over five CD’s and is now going solo. Expect to hear some great sounding soul at Hotel Indigo on Saturday, February 21. Kumalo is a hit during Winterfest. Kumalo is a master at bass and has toured with artists like Gloria Estefan, Cyndi Lauper, Harry Belafonte and Josh Groban. He’s currently on a world tour with Paul Simon and Sting. See his unique style Friday, March 6 at Hotel Indigo.
Venues
Winterfest is happening all over the East End, so no matter where you are, there will be music! A total of 20 venues are participating. Of those 20, there are 13 high-end wineries. As you know, Indigo East End is hosting talent, but so are tons of restaurants, wineries and other hotels. The festival stretches from Baiting Hollow to Southold.
