Don’t let the cold winter air stop you from some of the best winter events on the east end. Adventure awaits in every town around the east end. Maybe you want to enjoy an evening out with your significant other, or take the whole family out. The east end has just what you need. Ring in the holidays and enjoy the culture! Hotel Indigo found some of the best winter events on the east end for you to enjoy!

Riverhead Lion’s Club Christmas Parade

Here’s one for the family! The Riverhead Lion’s Club will put you in the holiday spirit. You can expect a great variety of local organizations with guest appearances by Mr. and Mrs. Claus! The parade takes route on Main Street, starting from West Main Street and ending at Osborne Ave. The parade is this Saturday, Dec. 7 at 1 pm. This is a great chance for families to support their local community and the kids to have their picture taken with Santa.

Seal Walks at Cupsogue Beach County Park

Coastal Research and Education Society of Long Island (CRESLI) hosts seal walks at Cupsogue Beach. Seal season started in November and the colder it gets the more seals migrate here from up north. This 1.2 mile walk is great for a couple’s date or a family event. Watch as harbor seals play and enjoy the Long Island sand and water. Don’t forget to dress warm! Greenport’s Shellabration

Greenport is hosting a weekend long event from Dec. 6-7. Enjoy local oysters, clams and wine at participating restaurants around the area. Shellabration is sure to be one of the best winter events on the east end. Local breweries, vineyards and restaurants are participating. Wristbands can be purchased on the Shellabration website or at a few of the shellabrating companies. Don’t forget to check out local activities going on, like the tree lighting at Mitchell Park that features a plentiful supply of hot chocolate, ice skating and caroling!
