Apr Top Spots for Your Long Island Wine Tour This Spring!

As we discussed last week, with the warm weather of springtime fast approaching, everybody is looking for things to do outside on Long Island. In addition to great outdoor dining opportunities, such as Bistro 72’s beautiful fireside patio, Hotel Indigo’s North Fork Uncorked Wine Tour is a fabulous choice to explore vineyards, breweries, and distilleries along Long Island’s East End.

Here’s a list of some of our favorite spots to stop along the way on your Long Island Wine Tour!

Long Island Spirits

This is one of our absolute favorite local producers. They produce four lines of top-quality spirits: LiV Vodka, Pine Barrens Single Malt Whisky, Sorbetta Liqueur, and Rough Rider Straight Bourbon Whisky. Their tasting rooms are open seven days a week:

Mon-Thu 10am-6pm
Fri 10am-6:30pm
Sat 10am-8pm
Sun 10am-7pm

With their vodka tasting flight, you get to keep your shot glass, and with their barrel aged tasting flight, you get to keep your glass! Not only do you get to spend the day enjoying some of the best spirits made on Long Island, but you get to go home with a souvenir—what could be better? Learn more on the LI Spirits website.

Greenport Harbor Brewing Company

Greenport Harbor is one of our most loved beers on tap, and their tasting room is a definite must-see on your tasting tour. We love their seasonal ales, such as the Summer Ale and Leaf Pile Ale, but their menu is expansive, so there’s something for everyone in their tasting room. As of now, their tasting room hours are as follows:

Fri 3pm-7pm
Sat 12pm-7pm
Sun 12pm-5pm

Check in with them on their Facebook page to see when they update their Summer hours so you don’t miss out!

Croteaux

The Croteaux Tasting Barn and Garden is what Pinterest boards were made for. It’s absolutely picturesque, and is the perfect location for a quaint and cozy afternoon out with friends. Enjoy their courtyard garden that wraps around their historic barns while tasting their delicious Rosé wines. You can visit Croteaux on:

Fri-Mon 12pm-5pm through June
Mon-Sun 12pm-5pm July-August

You can see more photos of their venue on their Facebook. Trust us, you’ll fall in love, too.

McCall Wines

One of our favorite vineyards, and the host of Harvest East End 2013, McCall Wines has converted an old potato barn and horse stable into a rustic tasting room for a truly country experience. Their facility is perfect for soaking up the warm, Spring sun, and their wines are just the refreshment you’d hope for on such a day. Visit their vineyard on:

Thu-Mon 12pm-5:30pm through May
Mon-Sun 12-5:30pm through September

Check out their Facebook page for updates about McCall Wines!

Sherwood House Vineyards

From White to Red, Sherwood House has it all—even their own Sherwood House X.O. Brandy! They have a tasting stand at their primary location in Mattituck, which is nestled right beside the vineyard with picnic tables and fire pits. Additionally, they have a tasting house in Jamesport within a newly renovated 1860’s Farmhouse, which boasts an outdoor deck, fireplace, and event Barn. If you want a little taste of East End history to pair with your wine, Sherwood House is your spot. Visit them on:

Sun-Thu 11am-6pm
Fri 11am-8pm
Sat 11am-7pm

When you go, definitely try the White Merlot and the 2010 Cabernet Franc! Follow Sherwood House Vineyards on Facebook!

And there you have it! A handful of some of our favorite Long Island Wine Tour stops!
