Winterfest 2015

We are counting down the final weeks of Long Island Winterfest 2015, but the performances keep coming! That includes an old favorite, Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks! On Saturday, March 21, come see the band rock out at the Hotel Indigo Ballroom. From 7 pm to 11 pm, this rockabilly band will have you dancing. So make sure you don’t miss out on one of the best shows of Winterfest 2015!

Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks

In 1988, Gene Casey moved to the East End of Long Island after living and performing in Manhattan. Casey played shows at classic NYC venues, like CBGB’s, Mudd Club and more during the new wave punk musical movement. Casey formed the Lone Sharks, which quickly became a staple in the music scene of the Hamptons. While the band grew in the 1990s, they were a regular at The Wild Rose Café in Bridgehampton. Their roots rock and swing genre sold out the café on the weekends. They even released several albums with original songs.

Along with vocalist Gene Casey, the Lone Sharks are comprised of talented musicians. Chris Ripley plays drums; Paul Scher plays saxophone; and Tony Palumbo plays upright bass.

Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks have played with plenty of artists including, Tiny Tim, Wanda Jackson, Elvis Costello, The Who’s John Entwistle, NRBQ, Sleepy LaBeef and more.

Their most recent album is titled, “Untrained,” which includes 12 songs written by Casey and the sharks. The album pays tribute to the roots of contemporary Americana with a mix of rock and roll, 1960s pop and classic country and western music.
