26 Dec 3 Easy Games for Long Car Rides During the Holidays
It’s the holiday season–which means crowded roads and heavy traffic thanks to other family-bound drivers. If you’re looking for a simple way to entertain your passengers, here’s 3 easy games you can play on the road, no pen or paper required.
The Alphabet Game
Start the game off with a category, then in turns say a word that falls under the category starting with “A” all the way down to “Z.” The category can be anything and be as specific or as broad as you want. So if the category was holidays, you could start with “All Hallows’ Eve,” and then the next person could say “Bastille Day” and the person after “Christmas” and so on.
Name That Tune
This one requires a little musical talent. One players hums or sings a tune, then the other players have to guess the title of the song. It’s more fun if each player picks a song based on a certain theme like movie soundtracks, tv themes, musical genres etc. If no one has the pipes to sing or hum, try turning on the radio and guessing which song is playing. Whoever has guessed the most songs correctly within the hour wins!
The Letter Game
To start this game, one person picks a theme of words. If the theme is food, the starting person could say “banana” then the next person would have to pick a word that starts with the last letter of that word, so they could say “apple.” Then the next person would have to think of a word that starts with “e” and is a food item. You can pick any theme like car models, countries or musicians. The point of the game is to keep the chain of words going for as long as possible.
