Harbes Family Farm, pictured above, has been operating on Long Island for over 13 generations and has grown to include three farms. Harbes is a great destination for family fun and local fruits and vegetables. There are three farm locations to choose from, each different from the other. Their flagship location is the Mattituck farm which is also home to their Vineyard’s tasting room and two corn mazes. The Jamesport location is home to their largest interactive 6-acre corn maze. The third location is the Harbes Orchard in Riverhead which is the only location to offer apple picking and has a Spooky Corn Maze (Fri. & Sat. nights from Columbus Day to 10/24). Harbes maintains a commitment to sustainability and conservation through their farming and winegrowing practices which preserves the heritage of farmers. Sang Lee Farms, located in Peconic, was established in the mid-1940s and has grown throughout the years to become an organically certified farm. The farm earned that distinction in 2007 with the NOFA-NY Organic Certification, LLC establishing themselves as a producer of high quality organic products. They offer a wide variety of fruits and vegetables and have expanded to include organic food delivery boxes bringing the farm-to-table literally to your doorstep. This service dubbed Fresh-Lee-Delivered includes ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat boxes. The farm has a retail shop open from April-November, and they participate in farmer’s markets in East Hampton, Southampton and Northport. Another unique feature of the farm is that they have a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) which is a private vegetable club where members can pre-pay for an entire season’s worth of vegetables.
