Aug Recap of Harvest East End

This past Saturday, McCall Vineyard and Ranch in Cutchogue hosted Harvest East End 2013, a celebration of the 40th anniversary of Long Island Wine Country. The event featured a wide variety of tasty treats and a selection of wine to please every palate. Not only did Hotel Indigo East End have a booth, at which Executive Chef James Junk sampled his delicious Long Island Clam Chowder, but we had media coverage to experience all of the night’s festivities! We’ve compiled a few collages of our favorite looks, drinks and food items to give you a glimpse of the exquisite Long Island delicacies from Saturday night!

Let’s Start With the Wine!

We absolutely loved Sannino Bella Vita’s 2012 ‘Bianca’ White Merlot and Waters Crest’s 2012 Sauvignon Blanc. We also couldn’t get enough of 44º North Vodka’s Huckleberry Lemonade—their delicious huckleberry flavored vodka blended with fresh-squeezed lemonade!

Food, Food, and More Food!

Who’d have thought samples would leave us so stuffed?! The food at HARVEST was absolutely outstanding, and the creative concoctions we found were out-of-this-world! Our collage captures Jewel’s Chilled Local Corn Soup, Crab, Summer Truffle, which was beyond words, Bonnie Jean’s All-American Eatery’s Meatloaf Sliders, which were classic American perfection, and North Fork Chocolate Company’s Beer Nut Bark, a sweet end to a delicious evening!

Table Looks We Loved!

All of the displays were beautiful, but a few in particular caught our eyes. In addition to their awesome punch, 44º North Vodka’s table was just perfectly decorated. McCall Vineyard and Ranch, the event’s host, had a table setting that resonated a classic, warm, farmhouse feel. Love Lane Kitchen’s setup was also beautifully done, with an assortment of fresh-cut flowers and Mason jar candles to create a delightfully delicate ambiance.

The Fabulous Cast of Characters!

HARVEST was filled with people who were happy to be there, and who were passionate about the culture we’ve cultivated in our region, but a few stood out to us in particular. The Sorbabes from Gourmet Sorbet were to die for, serving crazy creative sorbet flavors with a smile all night. When we asked to snap a shot of the crew from Claudio’s, who were serving up a thick, rich Lobster Bisque, they all dove into their bags to pull out their mustaches! Too cute! The guys dishing out Fresh Oysters from Noah’s were the pinnacle of efficiency as their Oysters flew off the table like hotcakes!

All-in-all, we had a fantastic time at HARVEST 2013, and can’t wait for 2014! We hope to see you there next year!
