Apr The Twins of Twin Fork Beer Company

In 2014, identical twin brothers Dan and Peter Chekijian founded Twin Fork Beer Company, joining a growing community of East End craft breweries.

After pursuing endeavors in manufacturing, sales, outdoor construction, and wine importing, Peter joined a home brew club and dived into the world of craft beer. After much practice, collaboration, and an internship with Long Ireland Beer Company in Riverhead, Peter, and his twin brother began producing beer.

Peter told us “There’s a wine trail [on the East End of Long Island.] We hope to start a beer trail.”

The brewery’s name is an homage to the forks of the East End and a nod to tuning forks,  a musical instrument used for tuning instruments. Their father was a classical pianist and growing up they learned to play multiple instruments. Beyond their namesake, these musical influences can be seen in the naming of theirs beers as well. Their flagship beer, the Chromatic Ale, an American Pale Ale, is named after a musical scale. Their seasonal Legato Stout, is named after a smooth, flowing style of playing music.

You can sample both of these beers at our 3rd annual East End Craft Beer Festival on Friday, April 7th, 2017 at 7pm. With admission, you’ll get a souvenir tasting glass that you can use for unlimited samples of local craft beer, you’ll also be able to sample local spirits, and fare from local vendors, and get unlimited hors d’oeuvres, chili, and chowder by Bistro 72. Designated Driver tickets will be available for $20 and include all food and non-alcoholic tastings. The critically-acclaimed Miles to Dayton will perform live as well. Tickets are $50 and available on TicketFly here. Invite your friends to the event on Facebook here. After the Festival the fun continues with an after party at Bistro 72 wit live music by local musician Michael Duca.

Peter told us the Chromatic Ale is “a nice, crisp, full-bodied, but well-balanced beer” and “an everyday beer drinkers’ craft beer.” The seasonal Legato Stout, Peter described as “a sweet, dry, crisp, flavorful stout with hints of chocolate and coffee, but with a nice and smooth finish.” If you can’t make it to the Festival, you can find their beers by looking for their unique tap handle, which looks like a tuning fork.

Cheers!
